Summary of Changes to the Safer Illinois Privacy Notice

Summary of changes made on October 19, 2020

  • We added a disclosure indicating that some of the PII the Application uses is collected from University information systems and reiterated that the Application collects PII from your healthcare provider.
  • We added a disclosure that the personally identifiable information (PII) the Safer Illinois application collects is used to establish and display your building access status, to determine your testing frequency, and to facilitate exposure notifications.
  • We expanded the disclosure relating to non-PII by indicating it may be used for statistical analysis related to use of the Application and for research related to the COVID-19 pandemic subject to applicable law and University policy.
  • We added a disclosure that your University identification number (UIN) and building access status is shared with the University’s alternative building access application (Boarding Pass) to support consistent and efficient building access.
  • We deleted information pertaining to University affiliated users because only people with University identification numbers (UINs) are able to use the personalized portions of the application.
  • We made minor word and grammar changes for clarity.
