Driving Economic Mobility
through Transfer Supports

Transfer Drive provides personalized support for community college students transferring to the University of Illinois System.

Driven students like you can expect:

  • Specialized sessions focused on your academics, career, and transfer
  • Peer mentors and early connection to the U of I System
  • Up to $2,000 performance-based financial assistance to help with college expenses
  • Direct access to a dedicated transfer coordinator

Eligibility?

Who is eligible for UIC's Transfer Drive? Students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a new Fall 2026 full-time student at Harold Washington College
  • Plan to transfer to UIC in Fall 2028, after completing associate’s degree
  • Demonstrate eligibility for need-based financial aid

Apply

The Fall 2026 application is now open. The deadline to apply is Monday, September 7. Applications will be reviewed in mid-September, and decisions will be released the week of September 21.

Transfer Drive participants are not guaranteed admission into UIC. Students may be eligible for guaranteed admission through the University of Illinois System Transfer Guarantee or the University of Illinois Chicago Transfer Admission Guarantee.

UIS Transfer Drive Virtual Information Session

Thursday June 25th at 10am, 12pm, and 4pm

Wednesday July 15th at 12pm, 3pm, and 6pm

Eligibility

Who is eligible for Transfer Drive? Students who:

  • Are eligible for state or federal need-based financial aid
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher
  • Have an interest in transferring to the University of Illinois Springfield by Fall 2027 or Fall 2028.

Virtual Information Sessions: Starting Summer of 2026 through September 2026. Submit the interest form below to receive details as soon as they are announced!

Who is eligible for UIUC’s Transfer Drive? Students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be an ECC 509 in-district resident
  • Be eligible for state or federal need-based financial aid
  • Be in good academic standing and actively enrolled in an approved transfer degree program
  • Have an interest in transferring to UIUC for Fall 2027 or Fall 2028 and is committed to working toward meeting all UIUC transfer admission requirements
