The University of Illinois Brand

The identity of the University of Illinois is linked with excellence and access and a best-in-class university. Excellence in teaching, research, and public service. Access for students of all income levels to the three campuses. A best-in-class institution.

It is important for members of the University community -- in UA and on the campuses -- to understand and use the various graphic identity elements correctly.

Not sure which logo you need? Refer to the guide to the U of I wordmark and campus and allied organizations logos. Print this one-page handout and post it near your desk for quick reference.

Administration Identity

The identity statement explains why it is important for UA staff members to understand the UA brand of excellence and access and apply it to their messages and to their documents and publications.

UA Wordmark

The University of Illinois wordmark reinforces the identity of the U of I. The workmark should be used by university administration units or for multi-campus programs such as a conference jointly sponsored by units or colleges on two different campuses.

UA units should not develop and use unit, service, or system logos.

The University of Illinois does not have a logo, only the wordmark.

UA Colors

UA units are asked to use the colors defined in the UA color palette, released in October 2014. The color palette was developed to respond to questions raised by UA units about colors that could be used in a variety of products -- from websites to banners to brochures.

Please review the UA color palette PDF and direct any colleagues and graphic designers to the approved colors for use in projects. Colors are provided as Pantone, CMYK, RGB, and binhex.

Also refer to the comprehensive color page that provides links to UA, UI Hospital, and campus colors.
