The Office for University Relations, with offices in Urbana and Chicago, is the University-wide resource for:
- developing and executing strategic communications programs designed to gain and sustain public support of the University
- providing public affairs, marketing and planning assistance to the president, trustees, executive officers and others in University-wide offices
- working with the three campuses - Urbana, Chicago, Springfield - to coordinate efforts and ensure the consistent application of the University's image and messages
- the institutional response to requests under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act
