Email signature
Following professional standards for email signatures helps the U of I System present a consistent, on-brand message while providing relevant information to help others communicate with us. Experts recommend keeping the external email signature as simple as possible. The template below generally follows the business card format.
Recommended font is Verdana, 8 or 9 point, black.
Do include: name, title, department/unit, University of Illinois System, street address, email address, phone number(s), fax (if needed), website url link, social media accounts, FOIA disclaimer
Optional: include the U of I System logo in color as shown, or in all black. (Note that due to variance in email clients, some recipients may receive the logo as an attachment rather than an inline image).
Don't include: Colored or stylized backgrounds, miscellaneous images, multiple font styles and sizes, personal slogans
