Schedule of Events
B. Joseph White will be installed as the 16th president of the University of Illinois at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 22, in a ceremony at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts on the Urbana-Champaign campus.
Members of the public, university students, faculty and staff are invited to attend the installation ceremony, as well as a reception following the event in the lobby and—weather permitting—on the outdoor patio at Krannert.
Parking will be available in Lot B4 on University Avenue between Mathews and Goodwin avenues in Urbana. Shuttle service will be available between Lot B4 and Krannert Center from 12:45 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. and the return shuttle will be offered from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. The pick-up/drop-off station will be at the Goodwin Avenue entrance to the parking lot.
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to park in their regularly assigned lots.
For those in Chicago who are unable to attend, the ceremony will be broadcast live in the Montgomery Ward Lounge at Student Center East on the UIC campus.
For those in Springfield who are unable to attend, the ceremony will be broadcast live in Brookens Auditorium at UIS.
On the Urbana-Champaign campus, the ceremony will be broadcast live on UI-7, the local cable television service, and also broadcast over WILL-AM radio.
