Wordmark Usage

The University of Illinois wordmark reinforces the identity of the U of I system.

The wordmark was revised in spring 2007 to reflect President's White request that the campuses of the University of Illinois be listed in chronological order of when the campus was established or joined the University family.

The wordmark should be used by University of Illinois central administration units or when an office on a campus is coordinating a project that includes representatives from all three campuses.

The "Always Thinking" version, the original wordmark, is no longer used. The version with the campuses listed in alphabetical order is no longer used.

A draft style guide for the wordmark is available as a PDF document. Comments and questions are encouraged and can be directed to Ginny Hudak-David in University Relations.

Version One

The first is a classic presentation of the name of the institution and of each of the campuses.

Version Two

The second version is the same treatment of the words "University of Illinois" but with the names of each campus in its signature color.

Version Three

The third version is the same treatment of the words "University of Illinois" but without the names of each campus.

The current wordmark is available for both print and web use.
