Service initiatives honored
UIS was named to the 2008 President's Higher Education
Community Service Honor Roll for exemplary service
efforts to the local community. Student service projects
include a mentoring program for middle-school students,
beautifying a local school and working with a regional
food bank. UIS also offers service-learning courses that
combine academic learning and community service.
