The member of the Board of Trustees determine the budget, policies and direction of the University of Illinois.
The University’s three campuses — in Chicago, Springfield and Urbana-Champaign — are each led by a chancellor who reports to and is led by the University’s president and the central administration. The president reports to the Board of Trustees.
The University of Illinois Alumni Association and University of Illinois
Foundation are independent organizations that advance the prospects of the
University through activities and events that contribute to the reputation
and financial success of the University.
